Funding Supports for Lean and Innovation
Companies seeking to strengthen innovation and digitisation capability may be eligible for financial support through Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland and Skillnet programmes.
Competitive Innovation does not provide or administer funding. However, organisations may be able to use existing agency supports to engage our services, subject to eligibility and approval by the relevant agency.

Tailored Excellence
OPTIONS
Lean Start
Lean start is a short-term programme designed to help companies explore improvements opportunities in innovation and digitisation.
The programme typically runs for 7-9 weeks and focuses on implementing a defined improvement project with the support of an approved consultant.
Lean start:
✔ Is typically funded at up to 80%
✔ Has an overall project cost of approximately €6,300
✔ May provide funding support of up to €5,000
Eligible companies may use Lean Start funding to engage Competitive Innovation as part of their programme.
Lean Plus
Lean Plus supports organisations in building structured innovation capability and improving processes through digitisation.
Funding support may be available up to €50,000, subject to agency approval and eligibility criteria.
Lean Plus programmes may include:
✔ Innovation strategy and implementation frameworks
✔ Front-end innovation processes
✔ Governance and project prioritisation systems
✔ Resourcing and capacity planning
✔ Business case development and risk management
✔ Innovation culture and leadership alignment
✔ Digitisation of business processes
Where approved, organisations may use Lean Plus funding to engage Competitive Innovation to deliver elements of the programme.
Lean Transform
Lean Transform is a larger-scale programme focused on organisation-wide capability development.
Funding may range from 30% and 70%, depending on company size and eligibility.
Lean Transform programmes typically run for 12-24 months and may focus on:
✔ Leadership and management capability
✔ Customer-focused value delivery
✔ Implementation of structured innovation processes
✔ Digitisation across the organisation
✔ Cultural transformation
Eligible companies may use Lean Transform funding to engage Competitive Innovation to support programme delivery.
